The Outreach Committee at Saint George Methodist Church is dedicated to helping individuals find their place within our church community. Whether someone is new or looking to become more involved, the committee connects them with ministries, small groups, and service opportunities that align with their gifts and spiritual journey.
In addition to welcoming new members, the committee also supports those who may not be able to actively participate in church life. By advising mission teams on individuals and families who need assistance, the committee ensures that our outreach efforts reach those in need, whether through home visits, meal deliveries, or other forms of care.
If you know anyone who could benefit from outreach or support, please contact the church office. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and purpose for all, creating a caring and connected church family.
As part of our outreach efforts, approximately 100 meals are prepared and delivered twice a month to sick, shut-in, and elderly members of our community. This program serves as a vital way to share God’s love and provide support to those in need. We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in Parler Hall at 11 AM. We welcome anyone who would like to assist with this meaningful mission, whether through meal preparation or delivering the meals. Your participation can make a real difference in someone’s life.
The Methodist Men of Saint George Methodist Church lead the Ramp Mission, a service dedicated to helping those in our community who need mobility assistance. The men of the church build, install, move, and take down ramps for individuals who require easier access to their homes. This mission provides a vital resource to those facing physical challenges, ensuring they have safe and reliable access. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with this important work, and anyone interested in helping is welcome to join.
At Saint George Methodist Church, our Nursing Home Mission is dedicated to bringing joy and care to the residents of our local nursing home. Every month, we deliver a cake to celebrate the birthdays of the residents, ensuring they feel remembered and valued. This simple act of kindness creates moments of happiness for those who may feel isolated, reminding them that they are an important part of our community.
In addition to our monthly visits, we also organize a special initiative during the Christmas season. Our church members collect clothing and accessories to provide the residents with new clothes and thoughtful gifts. This helps ensure that everyone receives a meaningful present, making the holiday season brighter for those who might not have family nearby to celebrate with them. The Nursing Home Mission is a way to extend God's love and care to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We welcome volunteers to join us in sharing these blessings, whether through birthday celebrations or contributing to the Christmas gift drive.
The Youth Summer Mission Nights at Saint George Methodist Church embody the spirit of service and compassion. Every Wednesday during the summer, our youth gather to engage in meaningful mission work, directly impacting the lives of older individuals in our community. Whether they are cleaning up yards, tidying homes, or simply spending time with those who may feel isolated, these mission nights bring joy and much-needed assistance to elderly members of the community. The youth form lasting connections through these acts of kindness, offering their time and energy to brighten the lives of others.
But the mission doesn’t stop there. Our youth have also become actively involved with Camp of Hope, an incredible mission group dedicated to making unlivable homes safe and habitable once again. Over the past three years, our youth have played a pivotal role in preparing and repairing four homes, offering families a fresh start in a space that was once unfit to live in. Through hard work and dedication, they have contributed to life-changing transformations, giving back to those in the greatest need.
The Youth Summer Mission Nights not only allow young people to grow in their faith, but they also instill a deep sense of community responsibility. These efforts remind us all of the powerful impact that even small acts of service can have when carried out with love and compassion. Volunteers and new participants are always welcome as we continue this vital work in our community.
