The Youth Ministry at Saint George Methodist Church meets every Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. These gatherings provide a space for youth to grow in their faith, build friendships, and engage in meaningful fellowship. Each meeting consists of a youth lesson designed to help them deepen their understanding of Christian teachings and apply these lessons to their daily lives, all while enjoying time with their peers in a supportive, welcoming environment.
Our youth are actively involved in mission work, both locally and regionally. For youth aged 14 and older, the Salkehatchie mission camp is a transformative summer experience where youth and adults work together to repair homes for families in need. This week-long mission allows participants to serve others while growing spiritually. Another mission opportunity is Hands & Feet, a youth trip to Asbury Hills. This trip gives young people the chance to serve as the "hands and feet" of God, engaging in worship and service alongside other youth from various communities. Additionally, during the summer, the youth take part in Youth Mission Nights, where they assist local families in need by helping with household tasks, yard work, and other support services.
On each 5th Sunday, the youth take full leadership of the church's worship service. During these special services, youth members lead various aspects of worship, including making announcements, reading scripture, guiding children’s time, ushering, and even delivering the sermon. The 5th Sunday Worship is a wonderful opportunity for the youth to actively engage with the congregation, share their faith, and use their talents in worship.
